Rotsen Jim creates slow soundscapes: layers of drone that fold into one another until time dissolves. Each piece begins as ritual a listening —a sustained note, a breathing —hum closer— to meditation than to a song.
Rotsen Jim is a project that began at the dawn of the millennium, in the first light of the century. It was born to create music that is different and profoundly non-commercial—music meant to awaken and inspire. Since then, the entire musical landscape has shifted beyond recognition. I believe it is time for us humans to set AI aside and reach beyond the forms and styles that are in fashion today. This is what Rotsen Jim seeks to honor and bring to life.
